Domestic Wiretapping Program Declared Unconstitutional

Filed under: Politics, Security, Terrorism — Jared @ 12:39 pm

The title says it all. Go read about it over at CNN.com. Now all we have to do is hope it doesn’t get overturned on appeal – a pipe dream I’m sure, but PVC is cheap.

  1. Eh, the only reason this was ruled unconstitutional is that its existance was leaked to the public. Rest assured that there are plenty of “unconstitutional” things being done by the government that you just don’t know about (hell, there are plenty that you DO know about).

    You’re quite right about that; as I’ve covered before, the government has all kinds of irresponsible things going on. There are two things we can do to fix this:

    1) Work within the system we have, corrupt as it may be;

    2) Revolt, and reform our government.

    I’m not the revolutionary type, although I think that is what we need. If someone starts a revolution that actually has a chance of succeeding, I might sign up. Till then, I’ll take working within the system.

    Even then, I’m not about to run for office. But I feel it is important to discuss the situation in our world (even bitch about it a bit), and at least root for the good guys. Corporations have already started to realize how powerful negative chatter on the internet can be; maybe (sooner rather than later) politicians will feel it too. Till then, I’ll continue to talk about the good and bad, and root for the good guys.

  3. That hurts jared, you know my revolution has every chance of working. Take a chance and lets change things for the better.
